I initially joined the Buell lab as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in 2007 while a Junior at Michigan State University. After graduating I continued in the lab as a Research Assistant and Lab Manager. With the Buell lab focus on genome biology, I thoroughly enjoy that my position is continually evolving as new sequencing technologies emerge and current technologies mature. I am involved in several projects in the Buell lab in which my contributions range from wet lab work including RNA/DNA isolation, library preparation, and sequencing to general computational work. In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, trying new places to eat, reading, boating, helping out at my local animal shelter, and last but definitely not least spending time with my pups (and kitties too).
