Anne Frances Jarrell

I joined the Buell lab as a PhD student in fall of 2021. I am interested in using advances in genomics to improve crop breeding, specifically to increase sustainability and crop resiliency in the face of global climate change. Currently, this leads me to work with potatoes and their wild relatives. I love my research because it allows me to work at the cutting edge of science at the same time as indulging my fascination with the natural world. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, gardening, cooking new foods, and playing bluegrass music with my friends.
